Complete Official Guide for Selected Candidates (with Page-wise References)

For candidates shortlisted for Junior Executive (Air Traffic Control) under Advt. No. 02/2025/CHQ

1. What Is the AAI ATC DV & Medical Stage?

After qualifying the Computer Based Test (CBT held on 14.07.2025), shortlisted candidates are called for a combined verification and qualifying process, which includes:
• Application Verification (DV)
• Physical Medical Examination
• Psychological Assessment
• Psychoactive Substances Testing
• Voice Test
• Biometric Identity Verification

Only candidates who clear all stages are considered for final selection.

2. Venue, Reporting & Duration
2.1 Venue
AAI Corporate Headquarters

2.2 Reporting Date & Time
• Date and reporting time are candidate-specific
• Mentioned in the official DV schedule and call letter
• No request for change of date, time, or venue is allowed

2.3 Duration
• The process may extend beyond one day
•Candidates must make stay arrangements accordingly

3. Call Letter – Mandatory Requirement
• Call letter will be uploaded on the AAI online application portal
• Candidate must download it themselves
• AAI is not responsible if the candidate fails to download it in time
• Carry:

  o Printed call letter
  o CBT admit card

4. Physical Medical Examination (Most Critical Stage)

4.1 Where Medical Must Be Done

Medical examination must be conducted only at a Government Hospital by:
• Medical Officer of the rank of:

o Civil Surgeon OR

o Medical Superintendent

• Minimum qualification: MBBS
• MCI Registration Number and hospital stamp mandatory

❌ Private hospital medical reports are not accepted

4.2 Medical Form to Be Used
• “Pre-Employment Medical Examination Form for JE (ATC)” (Annexure-1)
• Medical reports must be:

o   Properly filled

o   Signed and stamped

         o   Given to the candidate in a sealed envelope
• The sealed envelope must be submitted on the DV day

4.3 Medical Expenses & Reimbursement
• Candidate bears the medical test cost initially
• Reimbursement will be done by AAI
• Original medical bills from Government Hospital are mandatory

5. Mandatory Medical Tests (No Exceptions)

5.1 Tests for All Candidates
• CBC (Hb%, TLC, DLC, ESR)
• Urine analysis
• Blood sugar (Fasting / PP)
• ECG (Resting)
• Chest X-Ray (PA view)
• Pure Tone Audiogram (PTA)
• USG Whole Abdomen
• USG Pelvis (female candidates)

5.2 Additional Tests Based on BMI

Overweight Candidates
• Male: BMI > 25
• Female: BMI > 22

Additional tests:
• Blood urea, uric acid, serum creatinine
• Oral GTT & HbA1c
• Lipid profile

Obese Candidates
• Male: BMI > 30
• Female: BMI > 27

Additional tests:
• Thyroid function test
• Liver function test
• Exercise ECG

6. Vision Standards (ICAO-Based – Very Strict)

6.1 Visual Acuity
• Distant vision:

o   6/9 or better in each eye

         o   6/6 binocular
• Near vision:

o   N5 at 30–50 cm

o   N14 at 100 cm

6.2 Colour Vision
• Tested using Ishihara or Tokyo Medical College charts
• Only CP-2 is acceptable
• CP-3 / CP-4 → Unfit

6.3 Refractive Surgery
• Candidates who have undergone refractive surgery are generally declared unfit

7. Hearing Standards
• Hearing loss must not exceed:
35 dB at 500, 1000, 2000 Hz
50 dB at 3000 Hz
• PTA report compulsory
• Speech clarity is evaluated

8. Psychoactive Substances Testing (Zero Tolerance)

Candidates are tested for:
• Amphetamines
• Opiates
• Cannabis (THC)
• Cocaine
• Barbiturates
• Benzodiazepines
• Non-negative screening → Confirmatory test
• Positive confirmatory test → Permanent disqualification
• No appeal permitted

9. Voice Test & Psychological Assessment
• Clear speech and articulation required
• No stammering, hoarseness, or speech defect
• Psychological suitability assessed for ATC duties

10. Documents Required for AAI ATC DV

10.1 Mandatory Originals
• Class 10 certificate (DOB proof)
• Class 12 certificate
• Bachelor’s / PG degree certificate
• Degree marksheets (year-wise or consolidated)
• Physics & Mathematics subject proof (if not clearly mentioned)
• Full-time regular degree certificate
• CGPA to percentage conversion certificate (if applicable)
• Valid caste / EWS certificate (FY 2025–26)
• OBC-NCL certificate (FY 2025–26)
• PwBD certificate (if applicable)
• Apprenticeship certificate (if applicable)
• NOC from employer (if applicable)
• One original photo ID
• Sealed medical envelope
• 4 passport-size photographs

10.2 Photocopies
• One set of self-attested photocopies of all documents

11. PwBD Candidates – Functional Requirement Certificate

PwBD candidates must submit Annexure-2, certified by a Government Hospital doctor, confirming ability to:
• Sit, stand, walk
• Read, write, see, hear
• Communicate and manipulate fingers

Failure to submit = Ineligible

12. Travelling Allowance (TA)
• AC II Tier (including Rajdhani) or actual bus fare
• Distance must exceed 80 km one way
• Required documents:

o   Original tickets

o   Cancelled cheque

• Medical from private hospital
• Colour vision CP-3 / CP-4
• Positive psychoactive substance test

FAQs (Student Doubt Section)

Q1. Are attested copies of medical reports acceptable?
Yes, only if issued by a Government Hospital, sealed and stamped.

Q2. Can medical be done after DV?
No. Medical reports must be completed before DV day.

Q3. Is LASIK allowed?
Generally no. Refractive surgery cases are usually declared unfit.

Q4. Is re-medical allowed?
No. AAI ATC medical decision is final.
